Because of the emphasis on output and production, a common tendency is to use praise to acknowledge people’s efforts in professional settings. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with praise, it can quickly start to feel hollow and impersonal if overused.

Validation 是个中文里没有准确对应概念的词，大概它在我们的文化中一直没有流行过。读了上面那段话，我意识到一个从小到大困扰我的问题好像有了眉目。我获得过不少表扬，但我总觉得它们不是真心的，是让我继续按照别人安排的方式生活的手段。我为了那个结果付出过什么，似乎是无人在意的。

当然也不能去怪那些大人和同辈，毕竟人很难去做一个文化里都没有词语来描述的事情。但是现在我了解了这个概念，或许可以学着这样看到和对待他人。

“传达理解”是一位网友在 Threads 上提到的译法，在此借用一下。传达理解有几种手段，大体可以分成渐进的关切、理解、同情这几个层次。
